Personal Statement:
 
I believe that everyone can learn a tremendous amount from taking piano lessons.  Not every student learns the same way and differentiated instruction is necessary to meet the needs of each student.  My philosophy is that it takes energy, excitement and a passion for teaching for a studio to be successful.  I love teaching and I realize that each student who comes to me has different desires and interests concerning their commitment to taking piano lessons.  My job is to fulfill these interests in the most complete way possible by making the process exciting and personally rewarding while instilling the best skills and knowledge possible while continually promoting the student’s interest.  Careful selection of piano pieces is a must to enhance the student’s personal motivation yet providing appropriate challenges without diminishing the student’s confidence.  Performance opportunities are important to develop the confidence in students which can be applied for those students who go on to have a career in music while for others, it helps them to face and meet personal challenges which cross over to other areas in their lives.  Patience and a friendly personality can make or break a student’s success as well.
